The Pella School District is spending the summer drafting potential options to return to learning in the fall.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling made a presentation to the school board at their virtual meeting Tuesday, in which the district has been charged to come up with three options — full in-person classes, a full virtual option, and a hybrid model that would have both face-to-face and some online.

Ebeling says district administrators are working on the three plans, with two or three leaders overseeing different areas to make sure there are health and safety considerations, communications both internally and with the community, a drafted plan for curriculum and testing, social/emotional well-being, and making sure all options are equitable and accessible for all students.

Ebeling says they will closely follow guidance from the Iowa Departments of Education and Public Health, and other state and federal standards.
