Iowa high school summer sports are on the verge of getting underway. After over two months of being shut down, Iowa’s youth will finally get the chance to end their school year on a positive note. PCM Activities Director Greg Bonnett says that while there are some hurdles to clear, he’s optimistic that people will handle things properly, and it will be a successful season.
“Our kids need to do something. And when I say that, I kind of say it tongue-in-cheek because I don’t want anything bad to happen. I know some people out there think all this is a risk, and I think the nation is looking at Iowa summer sports as being the test ground for how all this will all shake out. I really believe in our state, and I think everybody is going to do as great a job as they can, and I’m just hoping for the best.”
Practices begin on Monday. The first Mustang baseball and softball games will be Monday, June 15th at home against South Hamilton.
