The Pella City Council will narrow the field in the search for a new police chief at their meeting Tuesday. As part of the agenda, the council will consider a certified list from the Pella Civil Service Commission of four candidates, including:

Lt. Paul Haase – Pella, Iowa
Chief Troy Bacon – Frankfort, Indiana
Lt. Fredrick Jortner – Chesire, Connecticut
Capt. Shane McSheehy – Eustis, Florida

The Pella Police Department is seeking to replace Robert Bokinsky, who left for a role as a Director in the Scottsdale, Arizona Police Department in March. Bokinsky served as Chief since 2012.

Haase served as Interim Chief from March 7th through May 16th — Lt. Dave Beukelman is currently in the role until a new chief is hired.
