It was a little over a year ago that Knoxville Girls Golfer Amy Sullivan reached the class 3A state meet at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. Sullivan battled less than ideal conditions in both the first and second rounds to shoot a 110 in round one and improve to a 102 in the second round to card a 212 good enough to finish in the tie for 52nd overall. Sullivan had a goal this spring of not just getting to state but placing higher and taking more than herself to the state meet with an improved team and girls who were improving their games as well.
Sullivan:
“We talked about that before we were supposed to start the season. We were looking forward to placing third, second or even winning the conference, so we were ready to place higher.”
Sullivan is motivated to return next spring and be a conference contender, and get back to the state meet.
