Just over a year ago, Melcher-Dallas girls golfer Kynser Reed played on the state meet stage in girls golf. Reed qualified in the class 1A meet held at the American Legion Course in Marshalltown. Reed on two less than ideal days for golfing carded a total of 216 improving from a first round 113 to a second round score of 103 in day two to place 62nd overall. Reed, like a lot of the rest of the area golfers lost their respective spring sports seasons when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down sports across the state.
