Pella Historical Society and Museums (PHSM) was awarded a $9,000 emergency grant from The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, one of 24 in the state to receive project funding in humanities grants, meant to help Iowa cultural organizations rebound from the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The grants are intended to support ongoing cultural projects, preserve jobs and keep the doors open at thousands of cultural organizations that boost the economy and creative life of communities.
“We are incredibly grateful to the state and, in turn, federal agencies, for recognizing
that cultural history and arts provide 42,000 jobs in Iowa,” says PHSM Executive
Director Valerie Van Kooten.
Historic Pella Trust also earned a $1,000 grant through the NEA Cares Fund.
