Local voters are invited to a virtual town hall for the candidate running against incumbent District 40 State Senator Ken Rozenboom this weekend.

Democratic Candidate Lance Roorda will be available in an event co-hosted by the Marion County and Mahaska County Democrats via zoom or by phone on Saturday, June 6th at 11 a.m.

Roorda is a Pella area native who lives on his family’s century farm near Leighton, and is a mental health therapist. Roorda says he’s running because he believes the current state legislature is not representative of the majority of Iowans, who he says believe in compromise and supporting others.
