Despite the late start to the season, there is no rush to get the athletes out on the field of play before they are fully ready for the Indianola softball team. Head coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports the girls have been doing offseason workouts to stay in shape, and taking a slower approach will lead to more success later.
“Even though we may be behind, we can’t push forward too fast because there are going to be injuries involved because of that. So stepping back a notch and evaluating where our girls are at, and guiding them into this instead of throwing them into it is what I have told my staff.”
The Indians will play their first contest next Monday against Newton.
