With one week until the regular season begins, the Pleasantville baseball team has their schedule of games finalized. The Trojans will be road warriors early, with the first seven games to be played away from home.
Pleasantville plays four days in a row to start the season. The opener is Monday, June 15th at Van Meter. Two non-conference games are next, with games at Sigourney and at Knoxville. Conference play resumes to close the week at AC/GC.
Week 2 features another stretch of four games in four days, with trips to Earlham, Winterset and Albia. The week ends on Thursday, June 25th with Pleasantville’s home opener against Madrid.
The Trojans play all five days of the season’s third week. The week features trips to Des Moines Christian and Ogden, and home games against Interstate 35, Chariton and North Mahaska.
Pleasantville plays three games in the regular season’s final week, with home games against Van Meter and Ankeny Christian. The season finale is a trip to former conference rival Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
The West Central Activities Conference has decided to not reschedule games that were originally to be played before June 15th. As a result, not all teams will face each other, and no official standings will be recorded.
The Trojans will be featured in a live broadcast on 95.3 KNIA when they travel to Knoxville on Wednesday, June 17th. Stay tuned to KNIA for full coverage of the Trojans throughout the season.
