A very young, but talented pitching staff will be a focal point of the Twin Cedars Softball Squad this summer. Grace Bailey and Ali Mockenhaupt will again be the top two pitchers in the circle when the season begins next week. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KRLS Sports while Bailey and Mockenhaupt will be the top two starters, he has an eighth grader that will be vying for some innings this season as well.
Dunkin:
“It’s a matter of hitting their spots with fastball and changing speeds. We potentially have an eighth grader that’s come up has thrown quite a bit. Her name is Juliet French. I think it’ll be hard to break into that rotation, but it’s certainly possible. I’m eager to see how she progresses next week.”
Last season, Mockenhaupt and Bailey combined for all 38 starts for the Sabers combining for 144 strikeouts, and a combined ERA of 2.42 for the 29-9 Sabers. Twin Cedars will get its season started June 16th at home against Murray.
