The Central softball team recently announced its team awards for the shortened 2020 season. Offensive Player of the Year honors were awarded to senior 2B/3B Kaitlyn Andresen.
Andresen finished the season with a batting average of .375, which was the third highest mark on the team. She was third in hits (6), and led the team in doubles (2), home runs (2), and RBI (9). Andresen’s best outing of the season was in Tucson, Ariz. at the NFCA Leadoff Classic against Transylvania, where she went 2-3 at the plate with a home run and an RBI.
Andresen also recently announced that she would be using her extra season of eligibility granted by the NCAA after the majority of the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. She’ll return to next season’s Dutch team, which should be poised to be among the best in the nation.
Central finished the truncated 2020 campaign with a 6-1 record.
