LiveServe Blood Center is still collecting donations despite many businesses or schools not open to the public, and are currently in the process of getting back to their normal services. Claire DeRoin with LiveServe Blood Center tells KNIA News many times service organizations or companies will set up a blood drive which needs several weeks of notice, but it represents a good and easy way to help out the community.

“Blood drives can be fun events, celebrating a birthday or anniversary. We’ve had people who are celebrating being done with chemotherapy and they are excited to be done. We’ve had people who want to pay back the blood they’ve received. Blood drives are also a good way to do a memorial, to remember someone who received blood or was a blood donor. Or it can just be a way to give back to the community, blood drives don’t cost anything for organizations or businesses to put on. It’s kind of nothing to lose and a lot of help to give.”

DeRoin also said with elective surgeries and more travel going on now, the need for blood is on the rise so if anyone wants to donate, they should contact LiveServe. Find more information below.
