melcher-dallas-5

One glaring hole that the Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad had to replace after last season was the starting pitcher. Emilie Krpan ended a brilliant career with 907 strikeouts. In the circle this season will be freshman BrieAnna Remster. Coach Jim Crozier tells KNIA Sports even with limited pitching experience on varsity last summer, Remster has developed more pitches and looks ready to step up to the number one role.

Crozier:
“We got freshman BrieAnna Remster, who’s a freshman. She pitched mostly JV games last season. She’s been doing really well at practice and have developed a few new pitches working with Roch Thomas in Pleasantville, that’s really encouraging.”

Remster pitched just four varsity innings last season and did not record a start. Melcher-Dallas opens the season Tuesday on the road against Lamoni.
