The Twin Cedars Softball Squad is the favorite to win the Bluegrass Conference again this season. That said, the Sabers know they have teams chasing them that would love nothing better than to knock them off in this shortened season. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KRLS Sports rival Melcher-Dallas and a few others are ones to watch out for.
Dunkin:
“We’ll be right up there, and Melcher like I alluded to, they’re going to be a good hitting team top to bottom. I think a couple of other to keep an eye out for is Seymour, they have one of the best pitchers in the conference returning, and that’s what it starts with. So I think they’ll be tough to contend with.”
Dunkin says unlike in a normal season, teams this summer will not get a second chance if they lose because everyone plays each other just once, so there are no mulligans. The Sabers jump right into conference play Tuesday night at home against Murray.
