The Indianola City Council discussed new developments coming to Indianola at their most recent meeting, including a new housing development. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the developer and city used a zoning tool called a PRD, or Planned Residential Development, to help put the development together.
“It allows the developer to be a little creative in the type of development they are proposing. In this case, what could have been a couple of apartment complexes, the developer asked for a PRD where they were able to seek permission to change some of the layouts and requirements, and will be putting in 71 lots of various sizes. I think one of the largest lots is 10,000 or 12,000 sq ft, and home values between $250,000 to $300,000.”
Waller also said the council approved the first reading for the proposed development, so residents still have time to state their views to the council before anything is official.
