The Pella Historical Society and Museums intend to add another addition to their open areas after an extended closure due to COVID-19.
Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten says they intend to reopen the Vermeer Mill to tours once again, beginning on Monday. The Vermeer Mill will be open from 10-4 on Monday through Saturday, with tours given at 10:30, 11:30, and 1:30 each day.
Masks are required in both the Historical Village and Vermeer Mill. Van Kooten says Pella Historical Society took a tremendous financial hit, as they had to be closed during what is typically their busiest time of the year and due to the cancellation of Tulip Time. Those who want to support Pella Historical Society can join by membership or donate online at pellahistorical.org.
In addition to the Vermeer Mill, Pella Historical Society intends to re-open the Scholte House on Wednesday, July 1st, which has been closed to the public since 2018 due to significant renovations.
