While many area baseball and softball squads open Monday, the Twin Cedars Baseball Squad has an extra day to prepare for the season. The Sabers will play host to Murray on Tuesday to get the 2020 season underway. Teams have had one less week to prepare for the season this summer, unlike the three weeks in a normal season. Twin Cedars Baseball Coach Mark Schroeder tells KRLS Sports while he would take another week to get ready, he feels his team is prepared to take the field on Tuesday night.
Schroeder:
“I actually don’t think 2 weeks instead of the 3 is really hindering us. I would love to have another week of practice, but I think the guys are ready, I really do.”
The Sabers are coming off a 14-13 season in 2019, and fifth place in the Bluegrass Conference, something that Schroeder expects to improve on this season.
