Starting today, high school baseball and softball athletes will get to play ball. The 2020 Iowa high school summer sports seasons begin with competition this evening, and while many restrictions are in place due to COVID-19, local athletes are excited for the opportunity to compete during a four week regular season, with the baseball and softball playoffs set to overlap and start in mid-July. Among those is the lone senior of the Pella softball team Courtney Thompson, who is a five-year starter and will be responsible for leading a young Lady Dutch team this summer.

Thompson will be featured on today’s Let’s Talk Pella. As always, 92.1 KRLS will be the voice of Pella and Pella Christian athletics, with several broadcasts scheduled between now and the end of the summer sports season, and additional games available on the KRLS3 stream on select nights of competition. Knoxville will be featured on 95.3 KNIA. All summer sports games are also available at KNIAKRLS.com and the free KNIA and KRLS mobile apps.
