The Iowa Department of Transportation has been impacted by COVID-19, but long-term projects are still planned of particular significance in south central Iowa. Stuart Anderson is director of the Iowa DOT, and says the bypass of Oskaloosa with U.S. Highway 63 and Highway 163 will be moving forward over the next several years.
Anderson says several bridge repair projects have been emphasized in Marion County as well, perhaps most notably the addition of the Mile Long Bridge to the DOT’s five year plan, with significant work planned in 2025 to Highway 14.
