Both Melcher-Dallas summer sports squads open up the seasons tonight at Lamoni. The Saints Softball Squad has a tough first week of competition with Lamoni tonight and Twin Cedars later on this week. Coach Jim Crozier tells KNIA Sports his girls will have to be ready to go from game one.

Crozier:
“You’ve got to be ready right now, you’ve got Lamoni on Tuesday, and the conference champions on Thursday vs. Twin Cedars. So it’s not easy and you’ve got to be ready to go.”

The baseball squad will have its work cut out with the defending conference champions. The Saints are playing a lot of younger players but hope by the end of the season to be playing their best baseball. The baseball game is set to get underway at 6:00pm with softball starting at 8:00pm.
