The PCM softball team returned to action Tuesday evening, hosting Colfax-Mingo in a non-conference tilt. Despite taking steps forward offensively, the Mustangs fell in a 4-2 decision.
The Tigerhawks tacked on runs in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. PCM was held scoreless until the fifth, when the Mustangs scored both of their runs, courtesy of RBI’s by Paige Steenhoek and Hailey Schutte. Colfax-Mingo answered with two more runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead for good, which concluded the scoring for the night.
Sidney Shaver and RaeAnn Duinink each had two hits and each had a double to lead the way at the plate. Riley Devore pitched six innings, giving up nine hits with one walk and one strikeout. PCM drops to 0-2 on the season and returns to action this evening at Saydel. The Mustangs baseball team will also take on Saydel in Des Moines.
