The Pella Little Dutch won in blowout fashion 13-2 in five innings over defending conference champions Indianola Tuesday evening in a game heard live on 94.3 KNIA. Pella loaded the bases in each of their five innings at bat, but didn’t push runs across until the third when the game was blown open as Josh Miller hit a two-run double followed up by a Colby Van Gorp single. The Dutch scored another three in the fourth, with the Indians answering back after taking advantage of a pair of Pella mistakes in the field to make the score 6-2 entering the fifth. Pella batted with 13 coming to the plate and scored seven runs to put the game away in the next half inning, with Indianola failing to score several baserunners to continue the game. Pella also stranded 14 runners in the contest. Keagan Miedema was stellar on the mound for the Little Dutch to pick up the win.

Pella, now 2-0, will continue a busy week today when cross-town rival Pella Christian comes to the home of the Dutch in a doubleheader. The Eagles are looking to find traction after dropping the season opener 8-3 on Monday. Pregame coverage for both games starts at 5:15 on 92.1 KRLS, with Andrew Schneider calling the action.
