roadwork-ahead

As the Highway 14 Road Diet construction continues in Knoxville, Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams gave an update to the Knoxville City Council as to where the construction currently stands and what crews will be working on over the next few weeks. According to Adams patching, curb and gutter repair is complete for the mainline roadway. He says diamond grinding is active on the south side of the project with about two days left until moving north which will take close to five days to complete. Once diamond grinding is complete, those portions of the roadway will be made three lanes. During that time work will be done on pedestrian ramps to make them ADA compliant. Adams says the overlay of the project is scheduled for mid July at which time a left turn lane will be added at Wieler Drive. Adams says so far the project is progressing on time.
