Taking a trip outside of Little Hawkeye Conference play for the first time this season, the Indianola baseball squad lost an early lead against ADM Friday evening 6-5 in walkoff fashion. The Indians got ahead early, with a 4-1 lead through four innings, but saw the Tigers come back in the fifth to tie the score at 5 apiece. After a scoreless sixth, the Tigers pushed across a run in the final inning to end the game and the Indians first week of the season. Head coach Casey Aldridge tells KNIA Sports the early parts of the season is all about improving.
“I have faith in our guys, and I feel like we have a pretty deep pitching staff. We need to say we are better today than we were yesterday, get better every single day so we are playing our best ball at the end of the season.”
The Indians are now 2-3 on the season, and will head to the Tulip City Monday for a conference doubleheader against the Eagles of Pella Christian.
