Week two of the 2020 softball season doesn’t get any easier for a young Pella team trying to find its footing.
After an 0-4 start, the underclass heavy Lady Dutch will have to gain traction with road trips on the docket over the next seven days, starting with two games at Norwalk Monday, followed by a trip over the Red Rock Dam on Tuesday to take on Knoxville, a trek to Newton Wednesday, and finishing with a doubleheader at No. 3 in Class 4A Oskaloosa Friday.
With little time for practice and stiff competition on a nightly basis, Head Coach Teresa Thompson says the young team will have to learn as they play, and there were several encouraging sites despite the tough win-loss record.
