The Indianola boys and girls of summer completed their first week of competition last week, and start immediately back at it Monday on the road at Pella Christian. The Indians softball team has yet to drop a contest at 4-0, while the baseball squad will have some work to do and are 2-3 after a walkoff loss out of conference play at ADM on Friday. Head softball coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports the softball squad will have a new challenge ahead, a road trip.

“It’s our first trip on the road Monday, that’s going to be different for us. We need to be able to come off the bus and be ready to play, get geared up right away. They are hungry, and they will continue to be hungry, and we just need to stress that in practice.”

The baseball doubleheader can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Schneider on the play-by-play, while softball can be heard on 92.1 KRLS, with Jon Mohwinkle giving the action. Pregame coverage begins at 5:15 for both contests.
