The Pleasantville baseball team stepped out of conference play Tuesday evening, heading west on Highway 92 to Winterset. It was a 15-4 Husky victory, in a game that took only five innings to complete.
After Pleasantville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Winterset took control with five runs in the bottom of the frame. It was an offensive explosion in the second, as the Huskies scored nine to go up 14-1. That completed the bulk of the scoring, as Pleasantville was unable to mount much of a comeback.
Pleasantville drops to 0-6 on the season, and will be back on the road to Albia this evening for more non-conference action. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Monroe County Sports Complex in Albia.
The Trojan softball team will also be in action this evening for the team’s home opener, as Woodward-Granger pays a visit for a West Central Conference tilt. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Pleasantville High School.
