Two tough losses by the Twin Cedars Softball Squad to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Wednesday night as the Sabers were swept by the Rockets in game one 4-1 and game two was 7-6 eight innings. The Sabers in both games had trouble closing out a win as the score was tied at one in the first game in the second but the Rockets scored three runs to get the win. In game two, Twin Cedars had a 6-3 lead only to see it evaporate and fall by one in extra innings. Coach Zach Dunkin tells KRLS Sports the seven/eight/nine hitters have been coming through this season and they need to continue that to give his team a chance…
Dunkin:
“Jetta Sterner is hitting the ball well, she’s around 500 through the first week. If you can get that in your seven/eight/nine players then you’re going to have a chance in every game, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they progress in the next few weeks.”
Twin Cedars is now 7-3 on the season and takes on Seymour in a varsity only game tonight. The Baseball Sabers fell to Clarke in a non-conference game 10-5. Twin Cedars Baseball also hosts Seymour tonight with varsity first at six.
