It will be a pair of afternoon doubleheaders today for the Indianola baseball and softball teams, as the Indians host Grinnell in games that were moved up due to weather. The Indians baseball squad will get their games started at 11am today, and try to get back on track after suffering a 5-1 setback on Wednesday afternoon at Dallas Center-Grimes. Head coach Casey Aldridge tells KNIA Sports the Indians just have to pitch better.

“I have faith in our guys. I still think we have a pretty deep pitching staff. We need to be better today than we were yesterday, that’s kind of our goal. We need to get better every day so we are playing our best ball at the end of the season.”

The Indians softball team remains undefeated on the season, and take on a Grinnell squad that has lost six of their last seven contests. The Indianola softball doubleheader begins at 3:30pm, while the baseball doubleheader begins at 11am. Game two of the baseball doubleheader can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage starts at approximately 1pm.
