Law enforcement will have extra officers on the roadway through the 4th of July weekend to watch for traffic violations.

Numerous local and area police agencies will participate in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau sTEP enforcement wave. Pella Police Lt. Paul Haase tells KNIA/KRLS News they are looking out for those speeding, not wearing seat belts, and intoxicated and distracted drivers.

Additionally, Haase reminds Pella residents that fireworks are not allowed to be fired off at any time under city code, unless a special event permit has been granted by the Pella City Council.
