Historic Pella Trust has completed the first phase of the path connecting two landmarks in the City of Pella. Executive Director Jennifer Van Kooten says the brick has been laid and the Tuttle Learning Walkway is now open to pedestrians.
The path allows walkers to visit the Sunken Gardens Pond or Tuttle Log Cabin, and over the next several months, additional landscaping will be completed and educational signs about the history of Pella will be placed. Van Kooten says they’ve reached 80 percent of their overall fundraising goal, and appreciate any contributions to finish the special walkway. Historic Pella Trust will be participating in the first Thursdays in Pella from 6 to 8 p.m. in Central Park, and will have special demonstrations of wool spinning and blacksmithing at the Tuttle Cabin from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, as part of the community wide celebration.
