The cases of the COVID-19 virus are trending up within the Indianola city limits since the latest update on June 30th, bringing the total to 77 cases in the city and 15 not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District. Warren County has seen a significant rise in cases over the past week, going from 201 to 254, with 211 recoveries and 2 deaths.
The most recent Marion County Situation Report also shows a significant rise in cases since the last report on Monday, with 11 new cases and currently sits at 83 for the county with 56 recoveries and no deaths.
According to the Harvard Global Health Institute, Warren County is averaging 7.8 cases per day per 100k people. The recent rise also shows Marion County with its highest 7-day average rise in cases with 6 new cases per day per 100k people. Iowa as a state has the 15th highest growth rate in the nation, with 12.2 cases per day per 100k people.
