The city of Knoxville will host a fireworks display today at the Knoxville Airport. For everyone’s safety, community members are asked not to park on Highway 14. The show is being held at the airport to help encourage social distancing and to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fireworks show will be the only Independence Day holiday festivities held in Knoxville as THRIVE Knoxville cancelled all activities due to COVID-19, however, both the city and THRIVE encourage everyone to safely enjoy the fireworks display and to follow all federal, state, and local safety recommendations related to the current pandemic. A special two-hour long patriotic music magazine can be heard tonight as well on 92.1 KRLS following the conclusion of the Pella vs Pella Christian softball game.
