The Pella Public Library will resume regular summer hours beginning Monday. The building will be open from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Monday-Thursday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Fridays, and 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturdays. The library is closed on Sundays during the summer months.
Pella Library Director Mara Strickler says several restrictions related to capacity will remain in effect, including:
A maximum of 40 people, including library staff, will be allowed in the building at one time.
Many of the seating areas will have been modified or removed. This is to encourage the “browse and go” model so that others may also use the library.
Staff will be wearing masks and gloves.
Staff will be behind Plexiglas shields when interacting with patrons.
All individuals should maintain a 6-foot distance between unrelated persons.
Patrons are requested, but not required, to wear face masks while in the library building.
Some parts of the building, including the Heritage Room and the Book Nook, remain temporarily closed. Those wanting to request materials from a closed location should notify library staff.
Copying and printing services are available but will be handled at the front desk to minimize shared touch points.
Additionally, curbside pickup service will continue at the Pella Public Library for the time being
