After months of planning, construction and decorating, on Tuesday morning a local widow and her four children were presented with a home of their own through Habitat for Humanity of Marion County. Cheyenne Downing and her four children, Adalynn, Allison, Brock and David Jr were surprised as they pulled up to their house in Pleasantville as former NFL running back Warrick Dunn surprised the family with the keys to their new home which was filled with furniture, appliances and electronics from Aaron’s Furniture Company and Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc. Aaron’s and Dunn partnered to provide Cheyenne and her family with approximately $10,000 worth of home furnishing items as well as a special check for $5,000 to help with payments on the home.
Cheyenne and her family were chosen as recipients of the house after Cheyene lost her partner David in a construction accident in December of 2017 when she was six months pregnant with their fourth child. Cheyennes home is the 178th home presentation nationwide thanks to Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc.
