It may have been dark outside, and the Knoxville Raceway needed the artificial lights to let everyone see what was going on, there was a little sunshine last night. Actually, there was a lot of Sunshine, in the form of Tyler Courtney as he led all 25 laps to capture night one of the Brandt Professional Agriculture Corn Belt Nationals. Courtney was able to get a good start from his second row starting spot and took the lead on the backstretch. A yellow was the only thing that slowed Coutney down. Courtney was only in his second non-wing car event of the season…and said how good it was to win at Knoxville…
Courtney:
“Getting a win at Knoxville on our second night in the non-wing car really boosts morale and confidence in our team as well. Just excited to get back in victory lane and hope we can do it again tomorrow.”
Brady Bacon made things interesting after a late race yellow, but could not catch Courtney. Austin McCarl threw a 360 under the hood and took a win at the Knoxville Raceway. McCarl was chased over the line by brother Carson, and Joe Beaver finished third. Tonight is night two of the Corn Belt Nationals. You can listen to the call on KNIA with Live Track Side at 5:00pm and Race Night’s Live at 7:00pm.
