The Twin Cedars Softball Squad came from behind to beat I-35 on Friday 7-4. The Sabers were down at one point 4-1, but got the bats going after a slow start. The Sabers scored three in the fifth and one in the sixth and had 12 hits on the night with Rylee Dunkin, Ali Mockenhaupt, and Grace Bailey each getting two hits. Brooke Roby, Bailey, and Caity Reed each drove in two runs. Bailey also got the win in the circle going the distance striking out five. Twin Cedars finishes the regular season 18-5 and will await the winner between Diagonal and Mormon Trail in the second round of the class 1A regional which is scheduled for Wednesday. The baseball Sabers will start their postseason adventure tonight as they travel to Martensdale-St. Mary’s to battle Lynnville-Sully. The Sabers come in at 8-7 on the season while the Hawks come in at 9-7 and finished second in the South Iowa Cedar League. Game time at Martrensdale-St. Mary’s is at 4:30pm.
