Strong thunderstorms may bring much needed rainfall but also severe weather today and tomorrow throughout south central Iowa. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe weather, with the primary threats being large hail and damaging winds starting late this afternoon and continuing through the overnight and Wednesday into the afternoon. Heavy rainfall is also possible, with amounts between ½” to 1” in the forecast, and more if stronger thunderstorms develop.
