Federal Income Taxes are due today, after an extension was granted earlier this year from the normal April 15th deadline due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the IRS, those who have not yet filed their tax returns for 2019 must do so by today, as well as pay any unpaid balance. If you are unable to file a return, an extension until October 15th may be granted, however any unpaid balance is still due today. Paper tax returns must be postmarked by the end of the day, or you may face a fee. State of Iowa income taxes are not due until July 31st.
