A night after a dominant postseason victory, the Pleasantville baseball team traveled to take on Van Meter in a Class 2A district semifinal matchup. It was the top-ranked Bulldogs that picked up a 15-0 victory in four innings.

Van Meter scored five runs in the first inning to get things underway. One run each in the second and third innings put the Bulldogs up 7-0. An eight-run fourth inning was enough to put the run rule into effect and end the game early.

Pleasantville’s season comes to a close with a record of 4-14.
