Tomorrow morning the residents of Knoxville will get the opportunity to purchase bikes for just $10 each as the Knoxville Police Department hosts their annual abandoned bike sale. The sale will take place at 9 a.m. in the 200 block of W. Rock Island Street with all bikes being sold as is.

Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News he believes the sale is very much needed as he has noticed that bikes have been hard to come by. He says a few weeks ago he attempted to purchase a bike for his daughter and found out they are in short supply. He says the sale is definitely a service that is needed right now and comes at a great time as the department is currently in the process of planning their annual Helmets and Hot Dogs event.

Chief Fuller says due to COVID-19 anyone attending the sale will need to follow social distancing recommendations. He says there will be social distancing guidelines when participants arrive at the sale including having the bikes spaced appropriately. The department requests that attendees wear masks or abide by social distancing guidelines to help keep everyone safe during the sale.
