The 2020 season is over for the Pleasantville softball team. Despite a slow start for a team that was ranked in the preseason, it was a respectable finish to the year.
The Trojans started on a three-game losing streak. That was followed by two straight wins. After two more losses, Pleasantville picked up three straight run-rule wins in conference play over Woodward-Granger, Madrid and Des Moines Christian.
That momentum did not last long as the Trojans then went on a season-long four-game skid. Another win over Des Moines Christian and a non-conference walkoff win over Knoxville highlighted the end of the season.
A 13-3 loss to Wayne ended the regular season, and the Trojans were eliminated in the playoff opener by Pella Christian for the second straight year.
Pleasantville finished the season 7-11 overall and 4-3 in the West Central Conference. Three seniors depart the program.
