The Knoxville Recreation Center will be conducting a full Lifeguard Blended Training Course from August 14th through the 16th. The course is for any individual 15 years of age or older that is interested in being a lifeguard. The deadline to register for the course is Monday, July 20th at 9 p.m. Cost for the course is $160 per person with the course being first come first served with a minimum of five participants needed to conduct the course and a maximum of ten participants. Participants must be able to swim 300 yards, dive down 10ft for a brick and swim it back to the shallow end of the pool, and then exit the pool from the edge. They must tread water for at least two minutes, must attend all training sessions and must pass all exams with a minimum grade of at least 80%.
