The Pella City Council will hold two public hearings Tuesday relating to major water main projects in the community.

Bids will be considered for Clark Street Water Main improvements and construction of a new main along Fifield Road from West 9th street extending north to West Washington Street. The cost of the Clark Street project — estimated to be $407,000, will be shared with Pella Corporation, while the $825,000 of new construction on Fifield will be paid through tax increment financing. Work on both water mains is expected to begin in August, with final completion by December.
