The Indianola School Board approved the recommendations of the current Return to Learn plan for the school district, which includes requirements on face coverings. According to Superintendent Art Sathoff, the district will require face coverings for staff and students grade 6-12 when appropriate social distancing is not available, and students 5th grade and under are not required but encouraged to wear face coverings. Sathoff also said the Return to Learn plan continues to be a fluid document as more and more information comes out.

The vote for the mask recommendations was 4-3.

In favor of the recommendations were: Ben Metzger, Ken Bresnan, Carolyn Langenwalter, and Donna Kreamer
Voting against was: Rob Keller, Sue Wilson, and Laurie Abernathy
