The theme of this week’s Thursdays in Pella is Life in the Fast Lane. Tonight’s activities will highlight the strong tradition of racing in south central Iowa, with Knoxville Raceway, Eddyville Raceway Park, Flying Dutch Mx, and English Creek Speedway all represented. Remote control cars, a race flag craft, and blutrack will all be stationed in Pella’s Central Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Entertainment on the Tulip Toren includes Pella graduate and musician Adam Whitehead at 6:00, followed by a “Know Your Race Flags” presentation at 7:30 and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum at 7:45. The evening concludes with the Pella City Band at 8 p.m. Several sprint car racers featured at Knoxville Raceway and across the country will have booths to meet with fans as well. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting from every Thursdays in Pella this summer.
