The Knoxville Softball Squad finished with a 10-5 record and a third place finish in the South Central Conference this summer. The Panthers had several question marks heading into the season and Coach Carla Smith was hoping to get them answered in the first week. She says with the help of the three seniors ,Maddy Findley, Charlie Vermeer, and Madelynn Liston, the team was able to buy in to her coaching and have the season that they did.

Smith:
“I can’t really complain about a 10-5 record. Our seniors Maddy Findley, Charlie Vermeer, and Madelynn Liston did everything we asked them to do and helped the underclassmen, and I’ll miss them greatly, but they really did a great job of leading the team.”

The Panthers will return all but two starters next season. Smith says the work begins now for girls who want to fill the roles of third base and centerfield.
