Today we continue the top 10 countdown of the top moments of the 2019-20 school year with number nine. Making the playoffs in class 4A football isn’t an easy thing to accomplish, especially for the Indianola football team as one of the smallest in class 4A. But that feat was a hump the Indians went over this past year for the second year in a row, something that the program has struggled to do in a 16 team playoff format. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians program as a whole will benefit from the playoff experience, despite falling short of their goal of winning a playoff game.

“As we move forward into the next seasons, our underclassman go into those games knowing that we can not only compete with the big schools but go out and beat them as well, that’s something I’ll take away from it.”

A feature describing what it meant for both coaches and players to make the playoffs in back-to-back years aired on the award winning KNIA/KRLS Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show this fall. To listen to the feature, go to this story on KNIAKRLS.com.
