Remembering the 1990 State Championship Basketball Team
In the No. 9 moment of the Pella Christian sports season from 2019-20, it was 30 years in the making, and featured the greats of Eagles’ teams past.

On the evening of Thursday, January 16th, a weather-rescheduled reunion featured the greatest basketball team in the history of Pella Christian High School and one of the best ever to play in the state’s history of Class 2A. The 1990 undefeated state champion Eagles were honored as the 2020 Pella Christian teams took down Oskaloosa.

The reunion featured every player, coach, and manager from the magical run to Veteran’s Auditorium in Des Moines. Prior to the boys’ varsity game that evening, a special documentary commemorating the first champions in P.C. history titled “Soar Mighty Eagles” debuted in the Vermeer Auditorium.
