For the first time since 2004, the Central College women’s tennis team defeated Coe College on February 29th , earning a 7-2 decision.

The Dutch got off to a hot start by sweeping all three doubles matches. Then a pair of Marion County athletes put the match on ice, with freshman Alex Griggs of Knoxville and senior Sami Thompson of Knoxville earning 6-0, 6-0 singles victories.

Central’s season was cut short two weeks later due to COVID-19, and the Dutch finished 2019-2020 with a 9-7 record and 4-4 mark in league play.
